End of exemption for C9-C14 PFCAs, their salts and related compounds in pressurised gas metered dose inhaler coatings

The new requirements for the biodegradability of polymers in fertilizer products as coating agents or water retention polymers apply. The labeling must include a reference to compliance with the distance to bodies of water.

The amended requirements on biodegradability and water solubility for polymers of CMC 1 (virgin material substances and mixtures) and 11 (by-products within the meaning of Directive 2008/98/EC) apply.

The following products containing synthetic polymer microparticles in concentrations of 0.01% (w/w) shall not be placed on the market:

• detergents, waxes, polishes and air care products
• fertilising products, which are not EU fertilizer products, i.e. fertilizer products without CE marking
• products for agricultural and horticultural uses

Collection target of 51% shall be attained for LMT batteries

Transitional period for the first-time provision of class IIa, IIb and I medical devices with a certificate valid under previous law expires

The transitional period for the initial provision of Class C in vitro diagnostic medical devices with a declaration of conformity issued before 26 May 2022 in accordance with Directive 98/79/EC, the conformity assessment of which now requires the involvement of a Notified Body, ends.

Ban on the placing on the market of certain fixed refrigeration systems, technical aerosols and certain fixed, self-contained air conditioning systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases above a certain global warming potential will enter into force.

Date of application of different new requirements of the EU Battery Regulation:

• first step of the minimum recycled content of SLI batteries  applies
• earliest date of application for a maximum life cycle carbon footprint threshold for LMT-batteries. The actual date of application depends on the adoption of a further delegated act.

The following products containing synthetic polymer microparticles in concentrations of 0.01% (w/w) shall not be placed on the market:

• plant protection products, seeds treated with those products and biocidal products
• granular infill for use on synthetic sports surfaces

Labeling requirement for lip products, nail products and make-up. Products already on the market are excluded.

Transition period for the labeling requirement for lip products, nail products and make-up, that were placed on the market before October 17, 2031 is expiring.

Collection target of 61% shall be attained for LMT batteries

Ban on the placing on the market of certain stationary coolers, plug-in room air conditioners, monobloc air conditioners and other self-contained air conditioners containing fluorinated greenhouse gases comes into force.

The transitional regulation on the use of starting materials, compositions and components approved in accordance with national provisions in the manufacture of materials or products in contact with drinking water will end, as will the validity of national certificates of conformity for products in contact with drinking water.

Ban on the placing on the market of foams containing fluorinated greenhouse gases as well as fixed split air conditioners with a nominal power of more than 12 kW containing fluorinated greenhouse gases above a certain global warming potential enters into force.

Transitional period of the maximum content of lead in PCV products with recovered rigid PVC and in PVC silicon separators for lead batteries ends

Expiry date of approval of the active substance DMPAP in biocidal product of product type 2 and 4

Authorisations for the active substances ADBAC/BKC (C12-C16) and trihydrogen pentapotassium di(peroxomonosulfate) di(sulfate) for biocidal products of product-types 2 or 2, 3, 4 and 5 expire.

Expiry date of approval of the active substance thermally treated garlic juice in repellents and attractants.

 Lip products, nail products and make-up that contain synthetic polymer microparticles in a concentration of 0.01% (w/w) or more, shall not be placed on the market.
