Battery bundling
In Germany, the "polluter pays" principle applies to battery disposal. Distributors of portable batteries must ensure nationwide takeback by connecting to a takeback system.
Our volume bundling results in a better basis for negotiation with the providers of takeback systems.
Suppliers concerned
With the introduction of the Battery Directive and the German Battery Act, the placing on the market and the taking back of batteries and accumulators were regulated uniformly throughout the EU for the first time. The "polluter pays" principle was further advanced in battery recycling. Distributors of equipment containing batteries must fulfil certain obligations before they are allowed to offer their products on the German market. This includes registration in the EAR register, ensuring certain product characteristics and labelling, setting up a suitable takeback solution and ensuring the proper disposal of used batteries.
The Battery Act (BattG) therefore affects not only those who distributors of batteries, but also those who place products on the market in which batteries are included. Listed opposite are some examples from various product fields for battery-powered products.
