There is a variety of legal requirements, especially for electrical appliances, but also for batteries. Among other things, they include safety-relevant aspects, the use of radio frequencies or the chemical composition of the devices. Specifications for electrical appliances or batteries can extend over the entire life cycle of a product. For example, it may be mandatory to keep certain documents or spare parts for years. At the end of the product's useful life, these products must be taken back and disposed of properly. Legal requirements oblige both manufacturers and retailers.
